Hello! My name is Alexander Southern. I am originally from Avon, Indiana but I have also lived in California and Rhode Island. I am a freshman Cox Research Scholar majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Scientific Skills and Research Integrity. I am excited to start in the Dann chemistry lab this semester!
The picture of me as a child is a nod to my late father. Although it is a little difficult to see, behind me on the wall is his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee. I credit him as a main influence on my decision to major in biochemistry.
