May 2012

May 2012 – The new Crystallization Automation Facility (CAF) will be installed no later that mid-May on the 4th floor of Simon Hall. Nearly $800,000 is being invested in this facility to enhance and accelerate structural biology efforts at IUB. The purchased equipment includes a Phoenix DT drop-setting robot, a Desktop Alchemist solution/screen mixer, a Minstrel HT UV imaging system and two Gallery 700 crystal incubators. The equipment, purchased from Rigaku, is fully integrated and effectively provides the resources of a structural genomics center at IUB.
