June 26, 2010 – Lab party ‘Fun in the Sun’ at Chelsea’s house in Fishers, Indiana. We played some tennis in the morning, cooled off frequently in the pool, ate some awesome food from the grill followed by decadent desserts (tres leches anyone?), and finished off with some indoor games. Thanks to Chelsea’s family for hosting this event! See the photos link for pictures of this event.
June 22, 2010 – The lab was able to set up crystallization trials using a Phoenix robot from Art Robbins Instruments. The demo of this robot was a success as we were able to screen about 12,000 crystallization conditions during the course of the day. The lab is looking at every possible resource to obtain funds to set up an automation facility for crystallography at Indiana University Bloomington.
June 19, 2010 – The lab had a ton of fun and great food courtesy of Ryan and Emily Reeder at a big party in Carmel, Indiana, celebrating Kristen’s graduation from IU! See the photos link for pictures of this event.
June 14, 2010 – Kristen officially starts as our lab manager! Now the lab has someone to rely on with real organizational skills and research skills to match!
June 8, 2010 – The lab is awarded its first grant from the National Institutes of Health. This grant officially starts on July 1, 2010, and continues until summer 2015. Great work everyone!
